Community and Integrity Breeds Innovation

Automotive Quality Solutions (AQS) breaks the status-quo by specializing in almost every premium reconditioning and detailing service possible, all under one roof. What normally takes 5-7 days and 10 different vendors to repair and/or prep a car for sale, can be done in 1-2 days. On top of that, deeply connected roots to the community, an integrity first mentality, and endless ambition attracted two of the ten best paint-less dent repair technicians in the country. But that’s not what makes Automotive Quality Solutions special. At the heart of it all is Daryl Collette. A down-to-earth kind of guy, with a tangible authenticity, born out of a desire to give back to the community that has given so much to him. When setting out to get AQS off the ground, Daryl gives immense credit to the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, who connected him to invaluable resources from marketing services to economic development, and even help negotiating a near impossible zoning permit. “You meet people that can help you with your business, some become customers [and/or] they refer people to you, but it’s a network of folks that are in businesses, who care about their businesses, and it shows in how they treat their customers.” Along the way, Daryl has also connected with several charities he’s all too happy to support, including Smashing Walnuts (an organization dedicated to finding and funding cures for childhood brain cancer). As a cancer survivor himself, Daryl believes in the power of giving back. “I kind of grew up like that, you know, be part of the community and help others when you need help one day. It’s just Karma. It’s goodwill. And it’s just the right thing to do.” For us, it is no surprise that last November, AQS won “Innovative Business of the Year” at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s 23rd Annual Small Business Awards. An important note to all drivers: For non-voluntary auto work, an insurance company tells you where to go, but the customer dictates where they want to go. And as for AQS: “I think the number one important thing to know about our business, is that were probably overly honest. We’re real people. We’re car people. We love cars.” You can learn more about Daryl and Automotive Quality Solutions at: https://www.automotivequalitysolutions.com/

Lifestyle “Adjustment” Means Healthier Living

If you’ve ever thought Chiropractic Alternative Medicine was just a temporary get-out-of-pain series of adjustments, you’re not alone. Dr. Gregory Lee thought the same thing when he began his career in chiropractic. It wasn’t until five years after founding Active Family Wellness, that he realized his insatiable desire to help people started transforming the lives of patients in ways that could only be described as “miracles” [our words]: crippling migraines, that cost a mother her job and forced a pastor to sit during sermons, (both) saw countless specialists with no results before chiropractic care reversed their symptoms. Meanwhile, a patient who had been on anti-depressants her whole life was able to stop taking them after a year of routine adjustments. But these are just a few of the 100+ stories and testimonies that can be found in reviews or places such as Yelp, or the Active Family Wellness website. Even so, Dr. Lee wasn’t convinced early-on in his career that correcting subluxations (slight misalignments of vertebrae) could lead to anything more than relief from pain–a common misperception permeated by controversial debates around the prescription drug industry, and a “prescribe-first” medical paradigm. However, after years of research and testimony, Dr. Lee’s mission grew to educate and adjust as many families as possible towards optimal health through natural chiropractic care. “[We] want to get people healthier, stronger, and to increase people’s tolerance to physical, chemical, and emotional stress.” Active Family Wellness offers a myriad of techniques ranging from dry needling to compression traction, and even care for infants and pregnant moms.
