Elaine Gibson is the founder of Renewed Living as well as an author, speaker, private coach, green juicer, and grandmother. After she successfully beat stage four cancer without using traditional methods, her sole purpose became to help people lead extraordinary lives.
Elaine was diagnosed with a very early stage of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2001. She was never really one for traditional medicine, so instead she packed up and went to Mexico for a treatment plan she could trust. Six months later she was told she was in remission and thought she had kicked the cancer to the curb, but discovered that she had stage four Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma six years later. “I was this Jewish princess with a Christmas tree inside of her,” Elaine laughs, referring to the PET scan lights that indicated where the cancer was inside her body.
Again, instead of pursuing traditional methods, Elaine geared every ounce of positive energy she had in her body towards refusing to believe that she was going to die and educating herself in every capacity so that she could be armed with the knowledge that was necessary to survive.
Discovering Green Juice
During this time of learning for survival, Elaine came across a center in Northern Virginia for low-dose chemotherapy. “I was introduced to alkaline ionized water, which brought oxygen into my body, and that was huge…had a huge impact,” she highlights the beginning of her journey. “I spent almost two years there and in December of 2009, I was clean, but I’d been clean before. Up until I got to this place, every moment of every day I lived in fear.” Everything changed for Elaine when she was introduced to the Raw Food Institute and began consuming plant-based, high-oxygenated foods. “I thought I was gonna die. We all thought I was gonna die. So I was just doing it.” She lost 28 lbs, 4-5 dress sizes, and has more energy than anyone she knows… all at 73 years old.
Everyday Elaine asks herself, “How do I get oxygen and alkalinity in my body today?” Renewed Living says that 80% of what you eat needs to be alkaline. In 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology for discovering that cancer is an anaerobic cell, which means that it cannot live in the presence of oxygen. The “green juice philosophy” argues that the more oxygen you can get in your body, the more difficult it will be for cancer to survive or even form in the first place.
Entering into the green juice lifestyle is easier than most people think. “It’s not about taking things out,” Elaine says. “ It’s about bringing wonderful, amazing, extraordinary things from God’s garden…Just look up and down, and eat from there. By bringing those wonderful things in, the other things get crowded out just naturally.” The biggest misconception of taking up the green juice lifestyle, according to Elaine, is that it’s hard to accomplish. “This is the easiest thing you’ll ever do in your life,” she claims. “My whole concept is extraordinary living made easy.”
The seven most alkaline foods are broccoli, celery, spinach, bell peppers, avocados, kale, and cucumbers. Renewed Living helps its clients introduce these foods to their diets with creative, easy, and quick recipes that will make this diet the easiest one you’ve ever tried. Elaine likes to start people off with her famous mousse recipe, which is composed of avocado, cacao, almond milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. “My clients always say, ‘Oh my gosh your desserts are so healthy, you can eat them for breakfast.’” She continues, “I just call it eating for radiance.”
Living Her Legacy
Though she experienced terrifying times of tribulation, Elaine knew that she had to stay positive in order to prevail. Everything she does with her clients encourages them to add elements of positivity into their lives as well. “This is what legacy is all about,” she says. “You don’t know how you’re going to show up, but however you show up, it’s your legacy. And from there, we created a celebration of life.”
Elaine’s transformation has fueled her like she never could have dreamt, and it has inspired her to share this experience with the world around her in the hopes that her light may touch the lives of others so they can experience a similar transformation. “I hope that the community is educated enough to have small and large changes all over the world,” remarks Elaine. “It’s all about simple steps, and I hope that there is a world filled with wonder and magic that we’re creating because it’s simple steps somebody picked up from my thread and my spirit that goes out into the universe.”
